This year for spring break we travelled to South Florida and visited several National Parks/preserves and a state park plus Corkscrew Sanctuary. We saw a lot of alligators, some cool birds, 8 snakes including a Pygmy rattlesnake and a young water moccasin and a ribbon snake trying to eat a frog. We also saw some interesting birds including several Barred owls and some Swallow-tailed Kites. We saw at least three invasive lizard species including Peter’s Agama Lizard, Northern Curly-tailed lizards, and some Green Iguanas. One of our favorite activities in the Everglades is walking some of the trails and trying to spot the Liguus Tree Snails and I took several pics of them. We visited the Everglades Alligator Farm and some a show and a gator feeding along with doing the requisite airboat ride. One of my favorite points from a photography perspective was being able to photograph the Milky Way for the first time in Florida.
