This blog post is just a compilation of other animals and birds I photographed on our Minnesota trip. Many were taken in my parents backyard. The other main wildlife I photographed was a lot of Black Bears which I posted about here.

Bear Sanctuary
Another new location we visited this year on our trip to Minnesota was Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary in Orr, Minnesota. This park is in the very northern part of Minnesota close to Voyageurs National Park. I have some conflicted feelings about this place which I will describe. All of the […]
Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse
On our anniversary trip to Duluth, Minnesota we took a drive along lake Superior and visited two pretty cool places, Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse. Gooseberry Falls was the first stop. The water level was pretty low but we still stopped at multiple levels of the falls and wandered […]
Cotton Mansion
Duluth, Minnesota was not where I ever would have expected to be spending my 19th wedding anniversary, but it worked out pretty well. We were up visiting my parents at Dead Lake in northern Minnesota for two weeks as a family this summer and my wife and I snuck away […]
Dead Lake Sunset
For our family vacation this year, we spent a week exploring South Dakota including Custer State Park, Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore and Devils Tower Wyoming, and then spent a week relaxing at my parent’s cabin in Minnesota. Their cabin is on Dead Lake which is in the northwestern part […]
Minnesota Lake Sunset
Hard to believe that this beautiful Minnesota sunset was almost a year ago already. It’s nice when you can just walk right out the back door and down to the dock to capture a sunset like this.
Guthrie Theater Minneapolis
Running down to the last few pics to post from our Minnesota trip this summer. That means it’s time for another trip! One of the more interesting buildings that I came across in Minneapolis while I was exploring is the Guthrie Theater. It is a really cool looking, almost futuristic […]
Phelps Mill, Underwood, Minnesota
My parents have a lake house on Dead Lake up in northern Minnesota. I have visited it at least 5-6 times now, but this summer was the first time I have been to Phelps Mill despite it being less than 10 miles away. Phelps Mill is a really pretty old […]
Dead Lake Sunset
We got to see a spectacular sunset on one of the first nights of our stay at my parents cabin in Dead Lake, Minnesota. There were some nice clouds and great reflections off the water. I tried multiple different compositions, but these two were probably my favorite.
Minneapolis and US Bank Stadium
Minneapolis is a beautiful city that is very walkable. I enjoyed my short outing the first night of our stay in Minneapolis and wish I had more time to explore some other viewpoints. MI really wanted to capture a few shots of the new stadium as it was just being […]
