I went back to the Black Skimmer colony this morning. The morning started out with a fantastic sunrise. There were a couple of nests closer to the ropes this time so it was a little easier to get some shots. However the parents closer to the ropes stayed mostly on top of the chicks and didn’t let them out much except the one big chick who barely fit in the scrape with its parent. There is also a bonus baby Cardinal picture. I found this guy in my neighborhood after I got back. There is a second post that I will link to also. However, only visit the second page if you are not easily upset by nature. Unfortunately there are always gulls swooping over head and trying to grab chicks and this is the subject of the second post linked HERE.
