Hunter’s Moon

For October’s full moon which was called a Hunter’s moon I decided to head to my old standby, Ballast Point Park. I knew it would be a difficult shot because I had to shoot from the right side of the main pier where there are a ton of mangroves. Luckily there was one small opening that allowed me to get out to the waters edge to line up the moonrise just off the end of the pier. I had the good fortune of a few small sailboats out off the end of Davis Island that were cruising around as the moon began to rise. I had one pass in front of the rising disc of the moon and was able to capture my favorite shot of the night.
