Whenever I only have time for a quick trip for the sunrise I head to Ballast Point Park. It is close by and has a lot of options for the sunrise shots. My favorite usually involves the long pier. Sometimes you also have to look in a different direction during sunrise as the clouds can light up the sky in all directions.
