Return to the Tetons

The goal of returning to the Tetons for one night before returning home is that we were flying out of Jackson so it just made it easier. We decided our goal for our last day was to see moose as we had not seen any to this point of the trip. We also revisited a lot of our favorite spots like Schwabacher Landing where there were some Garter snakes around.

We finally found our moose along Gros Ventre road. We saw at least 6 moose including a mom and two babies.

As our flight wasn’t until around noon the next day I made another early morning trip. I got a couple nice sunrise photos on the way. Then I found two younger Grizzly Bears that were hanging out together a little north of Jackson Lake Lodge. I was able to watch them for about an hour and a half and the rangers did a good job of trying to keep people a good distance but also allow you to take photos.

We swung by Gros Ventre road once more and finally saw a bull moose.

And a final swing by Schwabacher Landing were the highlight was a bunch of baby Uinta Ground Squirrels wrestling with mom and each other.

All in all a great family trip with a lot of beautiful scenery and some cool animals. We also saw a lot of geysers/thermal features plus snow.
