A popular technique to get a different look in your photos is long exposure. I haven’t done many long exposure photos, but I did get to use it for a daytime exposure of a waterfall in South Dakota this summer here. I am now trying to incorporate it more into my cityscape photography. The first photo here was taken from the Platt Street Bridge. I used a 10 stop neutral density filter to get a longer exposure. This helped to smooth out the water and the clouds which made for a different look for this scene which I have photographed many times. The second shot is not a long exposure, but probably would have looked pretty cool if I would have tried it.
