I have been doing a little more trip planning for our October trip to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. I am definitely excited about it and have been looking through some of my old photos. The first shot tonight is a classic Smoky Mountains scene of layered ridges at sunrise. You can just see the sun poking up over the edge. The second shot tonight is from a separate part of the park called Cataloochee. It has a lot of historic buildings and also has the park’s population of elk which were reintroduced. This building is the Caldwell House. I tried to use the tree branches to frame it a little.
