A few oldies, but goodies tonight. These two were both captured in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Elk was captured in the Cataloochee area which is a bit of a sidetrip from the main area, but definitely worth it if you have time. I had a great morning there […]

Clingmans Dome Sunrise, Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Due to the government shutdown, Great Smoky Mountains National Park and all the national Parks are closed to the public. I feel bad for anyone who has planned a trip to any of our national parks right now that is being interrupted by this childish fighting. This is a great […]
Fall in the Great Smoky Mountains
Fall in the Smokies is a beautiful time if you can avoid the crowds. The main advice would be to be out early and late in the day and leave the middle of the day for a nice hike or a nap or some computer work. [facebook]
Gatlinburg and Cades Cove
Just a couple of quick shots from the Smokies tonight. The first one is a hotel on the hill above Gatlinburg. I liked the contrast of the fall colors and the cloudy sky. The other is a sunrise in the Cable Mill area of Cades Cove. [facebook]
Great Smoky Mountain National Park Waterfallls
It has been a while since I posted and I am working back towards a regular posting schedule. It will probably still be a little sporadic for awhile as we just moved into our new house on last Tuesday. These shots are from our fall trip to the Great Smoky […]
Great Smoky Mountains Cabins

Fall in the Smoky Mountains
Although we are now into spring the weather this week is a little chilly for Florida standards. We are barely making it to 65 the last couple of days. It kind of feels more like fall weather so I thought I would put up a couple of pictures from our […]
Oldies, but goodies
The photos tonight are from my first trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park as a photographer. This was 6 years and 2 cameras ago. I spent about a week there on my first trip and had a little more time to explore and look for wildlife than we […]
Twisting Roads
Great Smoky Mountains National Park has its share of twisting roads, but there are not that many viewpoints (that I know of anyway) to capture them from. Newfound Gap is one place where you can get a good view of the road below. You will however need a fairly long […]
