A few shots of the Tampa Skyline. I would expect this view to change quite a bit over the next couple years. That is one of the reasons I like to go back to the same locations is to document the changes that are happening.

The Story of Tampa
This amazing painting named “The Story of Tampa” by Lynn Ash hangs in the Tampa Municipal Office Building. It shows off so many of the important aspects of Tampa’s history and I bet a lot of residents haven’t ever seen it. It’s always cool finding some new artwork that I […]
Florida Aquarium
I visited the Florida Aquarium in Tampa today to get a few new photos. I got there right when it opened and got to make my first pass through basically on my own. It is definitely a different experience going without the kids.
Ballast Point Black and White and Framed
Two slightly different takes on one of my favorite photo locations today. The sunrise that I went to see didn’t turn out very colorful so I tried a few different things. For the shot of the pier I used a neutral density filter to smooth the water and then ending […]
Tampa from Hyde Park
These views today are of Tampa at sunrise from the top of the Hyde Park Village parking garage. In one view I included Goody Goody Burgers along with the Tampa skyline. Once the sun had risen a little more, I zoomed in on the skyline to capture the sun coming […]
UT and Union Station
I have posted a lot of views of the “front” side of the University of Tampa which faces downtown and the Hillsborough River, but not many of the back side. This used to be the main entrance that people would pull up to when arriving here in a train when […]
Tampa Fireworks 2019
Tampa Bay started a new tradition last night with the Boom By The Bay. They set off fireworks in 4 separate locations along the Tampa Riverwalk simultaneously. From my vantage point I could see two sets, the ones at the convention center and the ones from Sparkman Wharf. Overall it […]

Founded in 1989 by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, the History Center opened its new, 60,000 square-foot facility on Tampa’s Riverwalk in 2009. Accredited in 2015 by the American Alliance of Museums and a Smithsonian Affiliate museum since 2012, the History Center includes three floors of permanent and […]
Tampa Streetcar
The Tampa Streetcar service was brought back a few years ago and ridership has been growing a lot recently. I believe at the time of this writing, that riding is free which makes it a nice way to get around town or to Ybor City and back.
Tampa Theatre Update
Tampa Theatre is one of my favorite places in Tampa and definitely one of my favorite photography subjects. They have been doing a lot of work in restoring multiple parts of the theater to improve the look but also the comfort for the guests. One of the major restorations was […]
