Peaches the Flamingo

This morning I made yet another trip out to Fort Desoto. My goal was to see Peaches the Flamingo. Peaches was one of the flamingoes that were blown in from either the Yucatan or Cuba during Hurricane Idalia. A few days later this flamingo was found in distress, floundering in the gulf. It was brought to the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary who along with advice from the Busch Gardens animal care team helped to rehabilitate it. Once healthy enough, they attached a few trackers and let it loose at Fort Desoto. As soon as I heard that this one was hanging out at the East Beach turnaround I knew what my goal shot was, Peaches standing in front of the Skyway Bridge. I was happy to be able to get that this morning along with some videos of the flamingo feeding. As a bonus I got some of my better flight shots of a Brown Pelican at the Gulf Pier afterwards.

Loved the peaches video. It was much better than mine of the flamingo (not sure if named yet) at Honeymoon Island. They are cool birds!!!!
