Spent a few hours at the Circle B Bar Reserve this morning. It was cloudy and overcast, but I had a couple of cool sightings. The first sighting that made it worthwhile was a Common Gallinule (aka Moorhen) family with a young chick. The chick was following the parents being fed. Then the parents stopped to preen and the baby tucked itself underneath mom (I assume). Got some nice pics and a cool little video of this. Not too far down the trail I saw a Black-bellied Whistling Duck nesting in a tree cavity. I watched a changing of the guard as one parent came and the other got ready to leave. I did not get to see any of the giant gators crossing the path but I caught this little guy who was missing a foot crossing just in front of an adoring crowd.
