When you think of the Badlands you usually think of all the cool formations and landscapes. However, there is quite a bit of wildlife to be found. This big bison was roaming near the entrance station and used a tree and the fence as a scratching post. We found a whole herd of Bighorn sheep with a bunch of young ones and watched them play for close to an hour. We also did one short hike and found this Western Hognose Snake crossing the trail.
