Ybor City is known for a couple of things. It is known for its cigar making factories, most of which have been turned into condos or other uses now. There is also a lot of other interesting history some of which can be learned about in the Ybor City Museum State Park, one of only two National Historic Landmark Districts in Florida. Visit the Museum located in the 1923-era Ferlita Bakery, its lush Mediterranean-style garden and the “casita,” representative of a typical cigar-worker’s family home. Ybor is also known for its nightlife and bar scene. There is of course the Columbia Restaurant with its 1905 salad and flamenco dancers. Finally, there are the Ybor chickens (and roosters).
