Alligators in the Everglades

Alligators are definitely the iconic animal of Everglades National Park. They can be seen all throughout the Southeastern United States, but there are probably not many better places to see them than the Everglades or the Big Cypress Swamp which borders it. The easiest place to see them is Anhinga Trail. This short trail has a boardwalk out over the swamp and there are often alligators lying right next to the trail. My other favorite spot in the Everglades is Shark Valley. At one point during the dry season I saw close to 50 congregating congregating in one pool near the tower.
