Fort Desoto is one of my favorite sunrise locations in the Tampa Bay area. My favorite place at Fort Desoto to capture the sunrise is looking towards the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. This site is especially nice when the sunrise lines up with the spans of the bridge. My second sunrise spot is the Bay Pier. I like this scene because you can capture the pier as a foreground element to the sunrise. Sometimes you can also find good silhouettes here also. The other reason I travel to Fort Desoto for photography is for the birds. There are a lot of different types of birds that you can see easily at Fort Desoto. One of the most fun to watch is the Reddish Egret. They are always on the move when they are looking for food.
