Everglades National Park

A few more shots from Everglades National Park today. There is a good variety of photo opportunities including landscape, wildlife, etc. The one thing to be aware of is that the Everglades does not have the same kind of scenic vistas you expect from a lot of other national parks. There are however some beautiful areas of pine flatlands, cypress swamps, and views of Florida Bay. One of the smaller animals that I always enjoy looking for are the Liguus tree snails. They are most easily spotted on the Gumbo Limbo trail although they are found throughout South Florida. They also have a variety of color schemes from plain white to multicolored stripes. And of course the alligators are everywhere. On the boardwalks or on a boat you can safely get pretty close to them allowing for good photos.
