One of the most interesting things to me about the everglades is the variety of wildlife that can be seen there. South Florida and especially the Everglades is the only place that you can find both alligators and crocodiles living together. They don’t interact much though because alligators stick to fresh water the majority of the time while crocodiles live almost entirely in salt water. In Flamingo, at the southern end of the road through the Everglades, we saw crocodiles and manatees swimming in the same lagoon. That was a first for me.
