Spring Break

Over Spring Break this year we took the kids on a trip down to the Big Cypress National Preserve and Everglades National Park, 2 of my favorite places. We started in Big Cypress and found this Buttonbush Flower along the first boardwalk along with the Florida Water Snakes from my previous post. Afterwards we went out for an airboat ride so the kids could get the full experience. During the Airboat Ride we saw the grinning gator. No, he isn’t actually grinning, but it is a method of thermoregulation that gators use. We camped two nights in Everglades National Park which has a very convenient location for sunrise/sunset photos at Long Pine Key Lake.
