Sequoia National Park

One of the national parks that we stopped at on our California trip this summer was Sequoia National Park. None of us had ever seen a Sequoia or a Redwood prior to our trip so it was something we were all looking forward to. The Giant Sequoias were definitely impressive. They however are extremely difficult to capture in a photograph. It is hard to show the immense size. It is really difficult to capture the entire tree without having perspective issues. These two shots are of our first real Giant Sequoia sighting and the second is of a Giant Sequoia taken from inside of another Giant Sequoia.

  1. I’m planning a trip to Sequoia NP at the end of October. Could you recommend actual locations in the park for sunrise and sunset shots? With trees and without (top of Moro Rock?). I’m planning Tokopah Falls. If you went there, would you recommend early morning?
