Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park is one of the most iconic natural places in our country and is on most photographer’s must visit list. I had the opportunity to visit for a few days during our recent California trip. The good is that Yosemite is stunningly beautiful. The bad is that all of the visitors (too many) are in one area of the park and it kind of loses the nature experience. Tunnel view is one of the most famous scenes in all of photography so of course I had to capture that. It was not easy as on the day of our arrival there was a rockslide closing the entrance less than 5 miles from our hotel which I had booked over a year before and planned the trip around. This caused me to drive 2 1/2 hours each way to capture the sunset from here. I’m glad I did it that night though as there were a few nice clouds. The second shot is a closeup of the iconic Half Dome which I converted to Black and white.
