In addition to making it to Fort Desoto for a sunrise one day last weekend, I also went out and walked all over downtown Tampa for sunset and dusk photography. One of my main targets was the view from the Amalie Arena parking garage looking North towards the city. This has become one of my favorite viewpoints of downtown and it is definitely best at night when the trails left by the cars lights lead the eye straight into downtown. I appreciate all of the buildings that light up with different colors at night to bring this scene together. The second shot is of the Le Meridien Hotel. It is definitely one of the coolest hotels in the Tampa Bay area. It was built inside the old federal courthouse and the maintained a lot of the old building into the hotel. It was also just named one of the 10 best hotels in the state of Florida, a list which also included another Tampa hotel, the Epicurean.
