For cityscapes which comprise the majority of my photos at this time, the edges of the day are the best times to shoot. My favorite is the period just before sunrise as it is quiet and there usually aren’t many people around, but the buildings are still lit up and there is a bit of color to the sky. This time-frame also includes sunrise and sunset of course for the nice golden light. Just after sunrise is the other “blue hour” where the sky still has some color, usually a dark blue, and the city lights really stand out. The first shot is a blue hour shot of the Tampa skyline. Second shot is sunset next to the skyline from a little different angle.
