Last Tuesday Tampa hosted the Final Four for women’s college basketball at Amalie Arena. I decided it would be a good day to check out some of the hotels in the downtown area. I basically just went to the lobbies or any common areas that were freely accessible. That limited me at some of the hotels but was fine at others. Only one hotel, the Floridan Palace, had staff that stopped me and stated that pictures were not allowed. Not sure why they would not want people to show off what may be the nicest lobby in downtown Tampa. The most friendly staff however, was definitely at Aloft Tampa hotel. They were very pleasant and did not mind that I was taking pictures in the lobby, bar, or pool area. It was early morning and their were no guests in these areas while I was taking pictures. The Aloft Tampa hotel is very modern and the lobby decor definitely is true to the look.
