Opposite Sides of town and day

During my first HDR workshop, I met my student at Plant Park at the University of Tampa for sunrise. We shot together for awhile and talked about camera settings and HDR techniques. The first shot tonight is one that I took a version of a few years ago for Visit Tampa Bay and wanted to recreate now that I actually own a fisheye lens. It is a bit tough to find exactly the right position because the palm trees are mostly pretty close together and the fisheye lens pules them in even more. The other issue with this shot is that when processing there is a lot of chromatic aberration (purple fringing) around the palm trees because of the huge contrast in brightness with the sky. This is most easily repaired for me in photoshop using the camera raw filter and selecting the lens correction icon. You then switch to the chromatic aberration tab and drag the purple slider over 2-3 notches and boom it is all fixed. The second shot today was actually taken at sunset from teh top of a parking garage on tjhe other side of downtown. To capture the sun I had to find just the right angle where it was popping through between Skypoint, Element, and the Tampa Theatre building.
