One of my favorite places to go in the Tampa Bay area to watch the sunrise is Fort Desoto Park. When entering the park, take a left at the giant flag and head down to the East Beach. On the east beach you are facing the Sunshine SKyway Bridge. If you come at the right time of year you can even capture the sun rising between the two towers of the bridge. On my last visit, I captured several shots of the wider angle of the bridge and water including the sky until after the sun came up. Once the sun was up, I switched to my telephoto lens to enlarge the ball of the sun as it hung over the Skyway Bridge Fishing Pier.
