Nickelodeon Hotel, Orlando

I am going to take a little break from my Tampa shots as I have been posting nothing but Tampa for the last few weeks leading up to my show. II plan to settle back into a more normal rotation with a little more variety.

Last weekend we made our first visit to the Nickelodeon Hotel in Orlando for my oldest daughters 6th birthday. Part of the reason that we went is that is was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle weekend and she has a fascination with TMNT. The check in process at around 6 on a Friday evening was not handled very well. There were not enough staff and they were very slow moving the lines along. The room was decent, but nothing special. It had a room with a queen bed with a door that closed, a room with a bunk bed for the kids and a small living area with sink, fridge, and microwave. The food was what you would expect from a resort hotel where most guests are semicaptive. We had a dinner with the TMNT and a breakfast with Spongebob Squarepants and friends. The best part of the resort was the pool area. The pool is kept pretty warm and has a lot of shallow area for younger kids. There are also quite a few water slides. We spent a good part of the weekend in the pool including both mornings and a dive in movie Saturday night. Tonight’s two shots are of the pool area of the Nickelodeon Hotel. One during the day with the pool full and the second early in the morning with the pool empty.
