Tampa Fisheye Fun

Well, I have rented the Canon 8-15 F4 fisheye lens on two separate occasions and now I finally own it. It is such a fun lens. However, there is a huge difference using it on my Canon 5d mark 3 as compared to the old Canon 40D. Because of the full frame sensor on the Canon 5d mark 3, the lens gives an even wider view than it did on the other camera. If you zoom all the way out to 8mm you basically get a circle image and it is not until about 13 mm that you get rid of the vignetting (corner darkness). Anyway, I went to downtown today and started from Plant Park photographing the skyline. The lens was probably wider than I needed for a lot of the shots, but it will take some practice to figure out which to lens use. The first shot shows the skyline with the Rivergate Building (Aka Sykes Building aka Beer Can building) shooting light beams into the sky. That was something I don’t remember seeing before. You can even see some stars. The second shot it of one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Tampa, Taco Bus. They have great Mexican food that at least to me seems a little more authentic than the usual and of course they have a really cool storefront.
