Sweetwater Wetlands

We spent the holiday weekend in Gainesville and I made 3 trips to Sweetwater Wetlands Park (on my own each morning and with the hole family Sunday evening). The highlight was definitely a mama gator with approximately 20 babies that was right next to a boardwalk. At one point there as at least 8 babies climbing on her which was cool to see. On my last morning I also caught one of the gators bellowing.

Female Belted Kingfisher flying by me.

Gator swimming by and Rosy Wolfsnail crossing the trail.

Storm clouds and a rainbow

Marsh Rabbit and White-tailed Deer with a Cattle Egret friend

Gators chasing each other with Great Blue Heron caught in the middle

Anhinga tossing down a fish.

Snowy Egret catches a fish.
