Neighborhood and Backyard

My Pileated Woodpeckers have fledged but I still managed to gather a few worthwhile photos around the neighborhood and my own backyard.

This Blue Jay grabbed the Brown Anole off the fence and took him down to the ground. The Brown Anole did his best to fight back but was outmatched.

Who’s biting who?

This Red-bellied Woodpecker nests in a telephone pole almost across the street from our house and I just learned of it.

Our backyard Screech Owl still makes appearances around dusk.

First time I have seen the owl peeking out like this. Hoping it is sitting up higher because there are babies under there. We’ll have to wait and see.

You can go hundreds of miles to see interesting creatures of nature, or you can look in your backyard or your local telephone poll. You never cease to amaze me.

I never saw or heard of most of these birds> You did it again, Matt.
