I started the morning by checking on a Sandhill Crane nest that I expect to hatch any day. The eggs haven’t hatched yet so I took a few pics and moved on to a nearby park. At the park I saw a few Bluebirds and found my main goal, the Northern Harrier Hawk. These guys are somewhat shy so I had to do a fair amount of stalking, occasionally crawling through weeds trying to get close enough for decent pics through the fog. Afterwards I stopped back at the Sandhill Crane nest where the parent was doing a little renovation on the nest.

Nest Check
A little renovation of the nest while waiting on the eggs to hatch.
The Sandhill Cranes are so beautiful and the Moma Crane love to fix up her nest so it will be perfect when the eggs hatch. What great shots. The Harrier Hawks are always amazing. I guess the hawks had to sit in trees before ranchers put in the fence posts. Gorgeous shots of a variety of Florida birds.
