Made a rare evening outing to check on the baby Barred Owls. They are about a week old at this point. I definitely got much better looks than over the weekend and even got a couple shots with both babies. Pretty soon mom won’t fit in the nest and it will be easier to photograph the babies.

Mom peeking out of the nest.

Baby popping out.

Mom and Baby both looking.

Mom readjusting.

Peeking from under mom’s tail feathers.

The expression on baby’s face!!!

Baby #2 joining the picture.

Baby #2 in front.

Baby #2 and mom.
Mom and dad calling back and forth.
Just great shots of the Mom and her babies. The expression by the one owl is probably expressing the following: “where is my food?” You should talk to the Univ. of Fla Press to see if they would be interested in a book on Florida Wildlife. Your pictures, plus your commentary, would make a wonderful book. I am serious about doing a book on Florida Wildlife.
