Went out this morning with the main goal of photographing the St Pete Pier at sunrise as I hadn’t done that in awhile and it looked like the conditions would be good. The conditions cooperated, but the whole area I wanted to shoot from to line up the sunrise was blocked off. I ended up only taking 2-3 shots and then just headed to my default park, Roosevelt Wetlands. Had a decent morning there to salvage the outing.

Juvenile Bald Eagle being chased by small bird at sunrise.

Pied-billed Grebe in sunrise light. The bird is called the “Pied-billed Grebe” because it’s a grebe (a diving bird with legs far back) that has a two-toned (pied) bill during mating season.

Beautiful photos, those Brazilian pepper trees at Roosevelt have recently been sprayed to try to kill them off, unfortunately they sprayed everything else around it. Many of the smaller migratory birds at Roosevelt have left due to loss of food source and shelter. It’s unfortunate they can not selectly remove an invasive plant. One of the main causes for endangerment to many of out bird species is loss of habitat. Humans are so good at it. Love the photos!
I don’t know how you get all the shots you do, but I am glad you get them. Your photos are always magnificent, and your knowledge of the animals and plants is so impressive. Just great photos.
So amazing ! Thanks for great shots !
