I had another day off today and decided to drive over to Lake Apopka and do the Wildlife Drive. The main target at this spot is the Peregrine Falcon that likes to hang out on the telephone poles along the drive in the morning and I found it pretty quickly. I watched for awhile and got some flight shots when it left. I saw a bunch of Bald Eagles, multiple hawks and hundreds of coots, moorhen and ducks.

There are 6 species of bird in this picture. Tricolored Heron, American Coot (far right), 2 Common Gallinule (top), Greater Yellowlegs, 4 Lesser Yellowlegs, 2 Blue-winged Teal.

Ospreys, peregrine falcons, bald eagles and scores of great bird photos. It is impossible not to love the grackle who is ticked off at another grackle in your rear view mirror. What a shot. I love the swamphen and the simplicity of the various ducks. I also like the bald eagles admiring that huge bird flying nearby. Is it a bird, a plane or super plane?
