Fort Desoto

It has been awhile since I have gone to Fort Desoto and there isn’t much wildlife activity so I figured it would be worth a try. It definitely ended up being a decent morning. However when I first got to the parking area I got mobbed by mosquitos before I could make it to the beach. I have never seen mosquitos anywhere near that bad in this area. I photographed at least 1 bird that was new to me, a Black Tern. I also found Roseate Spoonbills, a Reddish Egret, a lot of Marbled Godwits and Red Knots and a lot of Terns (mostly Least and Sandwich).

I started with a couple silhouettes of a Marbled Godwit and a Roseate Spoonbill.

Some great shots of birds, but the Roseate spoonbill, with its gorgeous pink feathers, is hard to top.
