Had my most successful time ever shooting lightning tonight. I caught the storm after it blew through Tampa as it crossed Tampa Bay into St Pete and Pinellas. I caught the most bolts I have ever been able to. One of the features of my camera called precapture really helped. With precapture as long as you are holding the focus button halfway, as soon as you fully press it will record that happened in the 1/2 second before the button was fully pressed. With that I can just press as soon as I see the lightning and catch the bolt that just occurred.

The first bolt I caught.

All of the bolts I caught from this side of the bridge.

Bolts and storm clouds from the other side of the bridge.

Really amazing shots of lightning. I am not sure how you got theses shots, but they are spectacular.
Wow, great pictures
Don’t you know it’s dangerous to be outside when there is lightening? Great photos.
Remarkable lightening and remarkable photos. (I hope you were standing in a safe place the lightening looks fearsome).
