Met a few friends over by Homosassa Springs this morning to shoot the Milky Way. Initially it was hidden by clouds and light pollution, but when it came out we got some of our best looks for our area of Florida. The little island was a nice touch and I tried pairing it with some rocks and mangroves.

Initially it was mostly tucked into the clouds.

The Milky Way moved to our right into darker skies and became more vertical as the morning wore on (2:30ish AM here.)

I think this one with the mangroves makes for a good Florida Milky Way. I quickly lit up the mangroves with the flashlight function on my phone.

Almost vertical Milky Way.

More Milky Way.

Milky Way and Mangroves Vertical.

Last shot of the morning. Milky Way almost vertical over the island. Around 4 AM.
