Spent the morning checking on my two owl families again. At site 1 they are still pretty small. They were huddled together this morning while mom was gone. Mom returned and fed them a bit from either a rat or squirrel which is cached in their nesting platform. At site 2 one of the owls has fledged. It has climbed higher up the pine tree their platform is in. It’s sibling which is smaller and less developed continues to hang around the platform. Mom came in this morning with a squirrel to feed them. Dad is watching from a nearby tree.

Those Owlets grow up quickly. Do the Dads help with the feedings and taking care of the babies? I really enjoy seeing the Owlets grow up so quickly.
Covering on those babies looks more like fur than feathers. Thanks for sharing these great photos, Matt.
