More shots of this baby and mama Great Horned Owl. There is still a second baby in the nest but it seems smaller and less active so far. Mama was off the nest for about an hour this morning and then came back and settled in and I was able to get a couple pics of mama with her baby. I scouted two other parks but struck out.

The baby hanging out on the nest.

Mama arriving back on the nest.

Look at those “horns” that the Great Horned Owl is known for.

Mama has pointy ears and piercing eyes. I wouldn’t want to get too close to her.
I’m always glad to see your photos, Matt.
Thanks

There is no such thing as too many owl pictures, especially owls with babies. The people I send your photos to keep saying they wish you could post pictures every day. Your photos are so good and always framed in such interesting ways.
So cool! Ow I keep looking at osprey nests on poles.
Hi Matt!
I’m so happy to meet you today as I was walking through Lake Seminole. Thank you for sharing your amazing pictures and stories!
