SuperbOwl Sunday

I found another new to me owl nest and by the time I got a chance to find it, there is a baby. This one is maybe a week old at most. It is an interesting nesting platform. Mom and dad were both close by and I got some decent pictures of mommy Great Horned Owl. I also stopped at another park with a few gators and anhingas in mating plumage.

  1. The owl in the tree really blends in with the surroundings.
The anhinga’s eyes are certainly close to their beaks. Makes me wonder how they can eat without poking food in their eyes.

Thanks, Matt. I always enjoy your photos.

I never expected to see more bird photos today, so it was a welcome surprise. Every photo elicited the same response from me. “this is my favorite bird photo ever.” Then I would look at another bird photo and say the same thing. I am glad you only sent six or seven bird photos, because you would get tired hiring me say, “that is my favorite bird photo.”
I love every one of your owl photos, but it is hard not to appreciate the hawks and anhinga’s as well. And, who doesn’t like a gator casting a nice reflection on the water. Thanks for making my day.
