Orlando Wetlands on a Cold Morning

I didn’t pick the best day to go out and do photography but still found a few decent sightings. The temps were in the low 40s with feels like in the mid 30s when I started hiking this morning. Between the cold (for Florida) weather and some wind there was not a lot stirring this morning. The first sighting was a Bald Eagle hanging out near a nest just as the sun started rising. The light and angle wasn’t the best but I got a couple decent takeoff shots.

Other notable photos were Turkey Vultures in flight, American Coots “walking on water”, a Wilson’s Snipe, and finally a pair of curious otters.

  1. Not many photos, but nice ones. You’re right – temp in 40’s is cold for FL. Temp here yesterday was single digits above zero with WC -22 F. This morning it was -9 here, our coldest day so far, but no snow on the ground.
