Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland, Florida was built in the middle of nowhere, but has one of the most eye catching buildings in Florida. The Science and Technology building can be seen from Interstate 4 and was definitely worth making the drive (a little over an hour) to photograph it.
Florida Other
Reflections
Reflections are one of my favorite types of photography to capture. I love cityscapes and good architecture especially when I am capturing reflections. These photos are of Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland, Florida. This building is very eye catching and can be seen just off of I-4 when driving between […]
Florida Polytechnic University
Here are a couple more cool shots from Florida Polytechnic University. The first shot is a side view from after the fog rolled in. I incorporated some of the pickerelweed that lines the pond around the building into the photo. The second shot is straight on from one of the […]
Florida Polytechnic University
Florida Polytechnic University is a new college that was created in Florida to focus on STEM courses. It was built pretty much in the middle of nowhere but the most distinctive building is right along I-4 which connects Tampa and Orlando. I have driven past many times and finally made […]
Highlands Hammock State Park 2
I wrote one post on this park not too long after returning from our trip their in December of last year. I still had several pics and just decided to post the whole bunch at once. We only camped for one night but saw a good amount of Florida wildlife […]

Up until this point I have not shared anything with Governor Rick Scott except for a haircut. However, in a sign of the crazy times that we are now living in, I must admit that I am in complete agreement with Rick Scott. On one issue anyway. Tourism is vital […]
Myakka River State Park
I took my 2, 5, and 8 year old girls on their first camping trip earlier this year. We went to Myakka River State Park which has always been one of my favorite parks. I love how much wildlife you can see. There are also a bunch of short trails […]
Last pictures of Little Palm Island
I’m down to the last 3 photos of my January trip to Little Palm Island so I figured I would go ahead and share all of them. Little Palm Island was a very relaxing place and someplace I have wanted to visit since seeing it when I used to go […]
Cocoa Beach Pier
One of the things that I will definitely miss now that my inlaws are moving closer to us is my photo trips to Viera Wetlands and the Cocoa Beach Pier. They lived on the Eastern side of Orlando so it was only about an hour trip to these two locations. […]
Back to Normal
Well, see you later Tropical Storm Colin. The storm was more hype than anything and wasn’t much more than a normal summer thunderstorm in our area. I am glad however that it has passed over without issue and we can get back to normal Florida weather which looks like these […]
