It is to the point where it is hard for me to go anywhere else because I feel like I get the most “bang for my buck” at the Circle B Bar Reserve. If I only have a few hours to shoot I can make it there in about 45 […]

Great Horned Owl Family Revisit
Went back this morning to revisit this Great Horned Owl family. All 3 of the owlets are out of the nest and perched in different parts of the tree. 2 stayed mostly near the top of the tree and were hard to get a good angle on. The other one […]
Great Horned Owl Family
This morning I made a quick visit to a local park where a Great Horned Owl family nests each year. The weather wasn’t great so the birds were mostly hunkered down, but it was still cool to see the two parents and 3 young owlets. One of the younger ones […]
Kenansville Area
The Kenansville area, south of Kissimmee, Florida is a great area for Florida wildlife and especially for birds. I spent the morning out there today and got quite a few pics I am happy with. I saw at least 4 Bald Eagles including 2 on or near nests. There were […]
Dry Tortugas Wildlife
We saw a good variety of wildlife at Dry Tortugas National Park, both above and below the water. My favorite was a resident Green Sea Turtle that has been hanging out inside the moat wall for the last couple months. We spent a good amount of time watching the turtle […]
Minnesota Wildlife
This blog post is just a compilation of other animals and birds I photographed on our Minnesota trip. Many were taken in my parents backyard. The other main wildlife I photographed was a lot of Black Bears which I posted about here.
Sunshine Skyway Bridge and Fort Desoto

Saturday Morning at the Circle B Bar Reserve
Spent the morning out at the Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland this morning. Hiked 7.5 miles by 10 AM. The sunrise wasn’t super exciting but got a few decent shots. The gators weren’t too lively. The highlight was probably the Sandhill Crane family with two parents and a colt […]
Neighborhood Screech Owl
I’m happy I finally was able to catch this Eastern Screech Owl looking out of the nest cavity. I have seen them fly in and out of this tree in my neighborhood multiple times, but they never stayed in a spot I could get a pic.
Birds of the Everglades
Of course one of the things the Everglades are is known for is the birding. We saw a bunch of cool birds including several Barred Owls and some Swallow-tailed Kites. I was able to get my best kite photos so far. We also saw a lot of the normal water […]
