After missing out on taking a nice birthday trip last year we were happy to be able to travel a little this year. We decided on the Caves Hotel in Jamaica since we only had a long weekend to travel and didn’t want to go too far with the ongoing Covid issues. Covid definitely makes it a little more complicated to travel, but it was definitely worth it. We flew to Miami and then after a short layover flew down to Montego Bay, Jamaica. The drive from there to the Caves Hotel actually took longer than either flight. At the Caves Hotel we had a nice little casita with a downstairs common area and an upstairs bedroom and deck looking out over the water. We enjoyed a lot of good food and a few fruity rum cocktails. I ate a lot of fish and had lobster tail twice and Christina had some good veggie entrees but her favorite was probably the banana pancakes and hashbrowns for breakfast. We spent some time lounging around and reading, but also went kayaking including into some of the caves. We also went snorkeling and swam into some of the caves also. We even did a little cliff jumping (PS that jump is in the 20-25 feet range above the water which the video does not show well). We visited the Negril Lighthouse which was right next door to the property. Of course I also made numerous rounds around the property to photograph a bunch of the scenery and wildlife (Those pics HERE). It was good to get away for a few days.
