Up until this point I have not shared anything with Governor Rick Scott except for a haircut. However, in a sign of the crazy times that we are now living in, I must admit that I am in complete agreement with Rick Scott. On one issue anyway. Tourism is vital to the Florida economy. Florida is currently seeing over 100 million visitors a year. This supports over a million Florida jobs in the tourism industry. Obviously we have the great weather and beautiful beaches to thank for a lot of this. However, the Florida tourism agencies also play a huge role in bringing these visitors to our area and supporting our economy. Visit Florida, Visit Tampa Bay, and Visit St Pete/Clearwater are vital to support. Who would have ever thought that the Tampa Bay area would land only the second championship game ever in the College Football Playoff? I highly doubt that would have happened without the hard work of these agencies along with the Tampa Bay Sports Commission. I strongly condemn Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran’s effort to remove funding from these resources. As a photographer who loves my hometown of Tampa/St Pete and the state of Florida, I am offering to share my photography in support of Visit Florida, Visit Tampa Bay, and Visit St Pete/Clearwater.
Nice article. I suggest you send it as an editorial to the Times. Sounds like something important to support!
