Clouds over St Augustine

There are a lot of components of a photo that can help to make or break an image. Here in sunny Florida, we have a lot of blue cloudless skies which is nice for some things, but can sometimes lack a bit of drama for photography. Nice cloud formations can definitely make an image have a lot more impact. The best time to catch a good cloud formation is around dawn or dusk or when there is an afternoon thunderstorm rolling through. Both of teh shots today were captured in St Augustine, Florida around sunrise. The first shot was captured right across from our hotel and captured the clouds reflected in the Matanzas River at sunrise. This is one of the times it is good to have a symmetrical image with the horizon in the middle. The other shot is the Lightner Museum with some nice clouds that was taken shortly after.
