Here are a few more of my favorite bird shots from Costa Rica. I am not truly a birder, but when you go some places, the birds are so pretty they are hard to ignore. There are a lot of cool bird species in Costa Rica of which we saw only a few. Both of these were close to our hotels. The Great Curassow female was hanging out with a male near the pool at our hotel in La Fortuna. The Violet-crowned Woodnymph was just up the hill from our room in the Pacuare Lodge. It’s amazing how a little change of the head angle shows off the beautiful colored feathers at the throat.
