Birds of the Osa Peninsula

Many travelers go to Costa Rica solely to see the wide variety of tropical birds. Two species that I was really hoping to see and that I did end up getting to photograph are the Scarlet Macaws and the Yellow-throated Toucan. I got to see and photograph both of these at Lapa Rios Ecolodge in the Osa Peninsula. The Toucans came to the hotel grounds most days to eat the berries off of one of the trees so I got several chances to capture them. The Scarlet Macaws you could always hear, but were difficult to see from the hotel. However, on our last day before leaving we went down to the beach and I was able to capture a nice flyover.
