Our last stop on our trip to Costa Rica this year was at Lapa Rios Ecolodge on the Osa Peninsula. This was a beautiful place with views of the Golfo Dulce close to where it meets the Pacific Ocean. The lodge is set up on a hillside with great views of the rainforest and the water. Some of the rooms are quite a hike to get to from the main lodge, but that was part of the adventure. While walking back and forth you could see several types of monkeys, Coatis, Agoutis, Toucans or many other types of animals. The room was not as nice as the other lodges we stayed at, but the view made up for it. The food and service in the dining area were my only two minor complaints. Could use some more variety definitely and we were only there 3 nights. But, the reason I picked this place was for wildlife and it did not disappoint there. Being woken up by the Howler monkeys is definitely a unique experience.
