Sloths were one of the animals that we were really hoping to see during our tip to Costa Rica. We ended up seeing 5 different sloths I believe. There are two species of sloth in Costa Rica, Brown-throated 3 toed sloth and Hoffman’s 2 toed sloth. We got to see both of them, although 4 of the 5 were the 3 toed sloths. We also got lucky enough to have one about 25 feet from our room at Nayara Hotel in the Arenal area of Costa Rica. I spent a lot of time photographing him and that is where I got my best shots. They are definitely some weird looking creatures. It was interesting to watch them climb around the tree in almost slow motion.
